RCN Advent Reflection #24

Advent Reflection #24
Luke 1:67-79

When Zechariah regains the use of his voice he, like Mary, uses it to praise God. His prayer of praise is one prayed by many around the world every day. Read it again.

The conclusion is so powerful, “By the tender mercy of our God, the dawn from on high will break upon us, to give light to those who sit in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

On this Christmas Eve, know that the dawn is breaking. With, “a thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.” With hosts of angels, fall on your knees. Praise Him. Praise Him. Praise God in the Highest. And know, in deepest places of your soul, that God on High is coming low – God has come low. Lower even than we, that we might again be with Him.

Come Lord Jesus.
